Fire Protection & Precautions | Director’s Briefing

The principal legislation regarding fire precautions in England and Wales is the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) and the Building Safety Act 2022. Similar requirements apply in Scotland under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The FSO has been in force since October 2006 and has since been amended by the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Building Safety Act 2022.

This Director’s Briefing takes you through:

•  Case law
•  Further duties for premises that contain more than one domestic dwelling
•  Recommendations for building responsible persons and/or accountable persons
•  Control methods and risk reduction techniques
•  Legal duties
