Director’s Briefing | Driving at Work

It is estimated that up to a third of all road traffic accidents involve somebody who is at work at the time. Driving is by far the greatest cause of work-related accidental deaths.

In 2018, 29% of road deaths (520 people) and 21% of road casualties (ie those killed, seriously injured, or slightly injured) were the result of a driving-for-work collision. This is in contrast to the 144 deaths over the same period that occurred in the workplace.

  • Control measures and risk reduction techniques
