Amendments to the Environment Act 2021 were brought into force on the 17th May 2024.
The Environment Act 2021 contains amendments to the Environmental Protection Act 1990 that will result in household recyclable waste streams being collected separately from all other household waste.
This applies to household waste generated at both domestic and non-domestic premises and where industrial and commercial waste is of a household nature, and covers glass, metal, plastic, paper, card and food waste for all sites, with the addition of garden waste for domestic premises.
