Environment, Health & Safety Legislation: Your Questions Answered

Wednesday 16th July 2025  |  1pm-2pm BST 🔗 Register your place

Following our recent legislation update webinars, we received an incredible number of practical questions on health, safety and environmental compliance. While we covered as much as we could on the day, there wasn’t enough time to answer them all – so we’re dedicating an entire session to do just that.

Join us for a live Q&A session with Barbour EHS Consultant Nathan Lunn, where he’ll respond to the most frequently asked questions submitted by you.

From Silence to Safety: Psychological Safety, Leadership & Culture

Tuesday, 30th September 2025  |  1-2pm BST 🔗 Register your spot

Psychological safety is a critical yet often overlooked factor in workplace safety and incident reporting.

While previous research has focused on medical settings, Elizabeth Hyde’s study is one of the first of its kind to explore the connections between psychological safety, leadership behavioural integrity and incident reporting across workplaces.

Join us as Sophie Parkin,  Senior EHS Lawyer at Eversheds Sutherland, interviews Elizabeth Hyde to discuss these findings and their implications.

From Boardroom to Courtroom: A Director's Journey through a Health & Safety Prosecution

Thursday 11th December 2025 | 1-2pm GMT | 🔗 Register your place

MCFT is a medium-sized catering installation company with an international footprint. In 2013, a technician installed a food waste disposal unit at a private hospital. The installation was entirely normal with no issues reported. However, subtle inconsistencies between the installation and maintenance manuals would later prove significant.

Tragically, four years later, a maintenance engineer working on the unit was fatally electrocuted when a water leak caused the unit to become live. In this session, Paul Verrico from Eversheds Sutherland will interview Chris Craggs, the Executive Chair of MCFT, about his first-hand experience of navigating a health & safety prosecution.

Service Walkthroughs for Barbour clients

To help you get the most out of your Barbour subscription, we offer service walkthroughs via Microsoft Teams.

Our Account Management team show you how to find and make the most of the service, including how to:

✅  Set up alerts to notify you of critical updates — not only for legislation, but also HSE documents, standards and trade associations. This ensures compliance without the need for time-consuming manual checks.

✅  Find summaries of legislation that quickly detail any changes.

✅  Make sure you’re fully utilising tools like Topic Search, ISO Gap Analysis and Horizon Scanning to stay ahead of industry changes.

✅  Streamline your document management by using folders to bookmark key resources (e.g. toolbox talks, model policies, directors’ briefings) so you receive alerts when updates occur — saving you valuable time compared to an annual review.

If you’d like to get a session booked in, simply fill out our form here or contact your Account Manager. We look forward to seeing you!
