From Boardroom to Courtroom: A Director’s Journey through a Health & Safety Prosecution

Thursday 11th December 2025
|
1-2pm GMT

MCFT is a medium-sized catering installation company with an international footprint. In 2013, a technician installed a food waste disposal unit at a private hospital. The installation was entirely normal with no issues reported. However, subtle inconsistencies between the installation and maintenance manuals would later prove significant.

Tragically, four years later, a maintenance engineer working on the unit was fatally electrocuted when a water leak caused the unit to become live. In this session, Paul Verrico from Eversheds Sutherland will interview Chris Craggs, the Executive Chair of MCFT, about his first-hand experience of navigating a health & safety prosecution.
